What is your favorite Monster? I have been decorating for my favorite holiday, Halloween! I love this time of year. So I thought I would share my favorite monsters with you. I would love to hear your stories and find out what your favorite monster is!
The Rougarou is of course my favorite due to its Louisiana roots. There are many different versions of the folktale. Some say it roams the swamps stealing oysters and fish from fishermen. While others say it will attack children that do not follow their Lenten rules. All of the folklore describe it as a blood sucking part wolf part man creature.

I have been in love with the Vampire since I was in the third grade. We took a field trip to the neighboring town to watch a play. (Why they took third graders to watch a scary play, I don’t know. I had nightmares for weeks.) I was in awe. I had never seen anything like it before. I remember a beautiful young woman with long blonde hair wearing a long flowing white gown. The tall dark and handsome vampire would come in her room from the balcony and bite her on the neck while she slept. After three bites she was a vampire. The play made quite an impression.
I loved the Angel series. David Boreanaz made a very good vampire.
Mary Shelly was definitely ahead of her time with the science fiction Frankenstein novel. I love that she gives her creature depth and emotions. He can’t help it that he was created and is hideous! One of my favorite versions of the story is actually the comedy Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks & Gene Wilder. If you haven’t watched it, it’s a must!
